2224 climbers get permission to scale Mt. Manaslu

Kathmandu, September 6: This year, 2,224 climbers have taken permission to climb Mt. Manaslu in the autumn (September, October and November). According to the data received from the Department of Tourism, 2,224 people from 17 teams of different countries have obtained permission to climb the 8,163-meter-high Mt. Manaslu.

According to the Department, 169 men and 55 women have taken permission to climb Mt. Manaslu. The revenue collected from them is Rs 9 crore 43 lakh 22 thousand 860.

The highest number of climbers have received permission to climb Mt. Manaslu in this season. Till Friday, only one person has been allowed to climb the Mt. Sagarmatha. Only two people are allowed to climb Mt. Lhotse.

Other climbers have taken permission to climb mountains less than 8,000 meters. According to the data, 11 people have taken permission to climb the 7,855-meter-high Mt. Nuptsa. Fifteen people have taken permission to climb the 6,395-metre-high Mt. Lyule.

In the same season last year, 400 people took permission to climb Manaslu Mountain. Bir Bahadur Lama of local Chumnubri Village-1 Samagaun, informed that the work of fixing the rope on Manaslu Mountain is currently underway. Also, the climbers have started arriving at Samagaon. The highest number of climbers in the Department’s Statistics is 43 people from China who have taken permission. There are 25 climbers from Poland, 23 from Russia, 23 from Nepal, 16 from the United States, 13 from Japan, 12 from France and 10 from Canada.
