20 candidates in Ilam 2; 12 in Bajhang

Kathmandu, April 7: A total of 20 persons belonging to different political parties, and groups have given candidacy to the post of member of the House of Representatives from the Ilam 2 electoral constituency for the April 27 by-election. 

Accordingly, 12 individuals have submitted candidacies for membership in the Sudur Paschim Assembly from the Bhajang electoral constituency for the April 27 by-election. 

In Ilam, UML’s Suhang Nembang, Nepali Congress’ Dambar Bahadur Khadka, Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Milan Limbu, Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s Laxmi Gurung, Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party’s Shyam Bahadur Darji, Nepal Janata Dal’s Resham Bahadur Sunuwar, Mangol National Organisation’s Mani Bahadur Limbu, Janamat Party’s Prem Kumar Thamsuhang, National Republic Nepal’s Dhanaraj Ranamagar, Rastriya Swatantra Party (Kamal Thapa)’s Ganesh Bahadur Chauhan, Rastriya Janamukti Aandolan’s Jayawant Bikram Shah and Ekakrit Samajwadi Party’s Jitbahadur Rai have given candidacy.

Accordingly, Arjun Bahadur Shahi, Keshab Kumar Chapagain, Dakendra Singha Limbu, Dakprasad Gautam, Dipesh Bohara, Manoj Niraula, Yogendra Gurung and Raj Bashyal have given candidacies as independent. 

In Bajhang, UML’s Daman Bahadur Bhandari, Nepali Congress’ Abhisek Bahadur Singha, Maoist Center’s Janak Budha, and Ekakrit Samajwadi’s Dil Bahadur Singha have given candidacy. 

Likewise, Binod Bahadur Thapa from Rastriya Matribhumi Party, Khagendra Shahi from Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party, Kamal Ghartimagar from National Republic Nepal, Kishor Kumar Khadka from Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Rambahadur Jagri from Janata Samajwadi Party have given candidacy for the post of member of the province council from Bajhang. 

Accordingly, Ashok Sunwar from Nepal Janata Dal, Deepakbahadur Khadka from Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Munch and Sushila Bista from Janamat Party have registered their candidacy from Bhajang. 

In Ilam and Bajhang, there is supposed to be tough competition between the Nepali Congress and UML candidates. Moreover, the groups struggling for identity may disturb the votes of the major parties in Ilam.
