
Kathmandu, Aug 2: A total of 70,193 tourists visited Nepal in July 2025. According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), this figure is an 8.7 percent increase compared to July of the previous year.
The board stated that tourism arrivals, which had slowed down due to COVID-19, have now improved by 99 percent. The data indicates that the tourism industry, once sluggish, is regaining momentum.
From January to July 2025, a total of 647,882 tourists visited Nepal—the highest number of arrivals recorded in any year since the pandemic.
Dipak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, said that these numbers reflect the revival of Nepal’s tourism sector and suggest that the country is once again emerging as a popular global destination.
Among the total arrivals in July, the highest number of tourists came from India. A total of 27,152 Indian nationals visited Nepal, accounting for 38.7 percent of the total.
China ranked second with 6,890 tourists (9.8 percent), followed by the United States with 6,626 (9.4 percent), Bangladesh with 4,413 (6.3 percent), and the United Kingdom with 3,547 visitors (5.1 percent), according to the NTB.
