Dear Sir,
Just to let you know that I read the article by Narayan Mishra in the People’s Review weekly. I find Mishra to be a very good man, a true Brahmin as in the Vedic times. The Hindu scriptures mention that in the Kal Yug, there will not be genuine Brahmins but only “janai” Brahmins. The Hindu scriptures seem to have prophesied right. Our country is full of Janai Brahmins, especially the leaders, and not genuine Brahmins with the qualities that a Brahmin should have as in the Vedic times; kind, understanding, honest, helpful, well versed in the scriptures, learned, humble, not given to greed, etc. A Brahmin was not by birth, but whoever had the above-mentioned qualities was a Brahmin. I’m not saying there are no genuine Brahmins who call themselves Brahmins in Nepal, there are, but they are very few and rare. From your writings, I find Mishra one. Though Mishra has written a very brief, succinct, autobiography or self-portrait of yourself in the tabloid or newsletter, his articles, and thoughts tell a lot about what you people are like. From the start, after reading your articles, I found Mishra to be a genuinely good and honest man.
