A Hindu by practice

BABBLES

The present India visit of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was for demonstrating his belief in the Hindu religion. Yes, his rival in the Nepali Congress Dr Sekhar Koirala had publicly expressed his commitment to the restoration of the Hindu religion respecting the people’s aspirations. However, Deuba was strongly against the agenda of re-declaring Nepal as a Hindu nation.

Deuba started his formal visit to India by visiting the BJP headquarters in Delhi. Deuba, after completing his visit to Delhi, went to Vanarashi, the headquarters of the Hindu party BJP and the holy place for the Hindus from Nepal, India and all other countries around the globe.

Deuba laid a foundation stone for the construction of a Dharmashala (pilgrimage guest house) to shelter the Hindu pilgrimage from Nepal. The Nepal government has allotted 10 million rupees to complete the guest house. Deuba offered a special pooja and the Kashi Bishwanath Temple at the bank of the Ganga River. He was the special guest of Swami Aadityanath, Chief Minister of the UP.

Deuba totally neglected the meeting with the Indian opposition party leaders, and instead, tried to demonstrate himself as a Hindu follower, through which, he wanted to inspire the Hindu party BJP in power in India. This is what we say politics!

No one-on-one meeting

This is the fifth visit of Deuba to India in the capacity of a prime minister. As he became the PM for the fifth time, he paid formal visit to India for the fifth time. This time, Deuba had to wait for eight months to visit India.

Deuba knows better that there is no practice of a one-on-one meeting with the Indian leaders. The Indian leaders are abided by the laws and code of conduct of the country. Especially, during the meetings with the foreign dignitaries, there should be the presence of officials from the External Affairs Ministry to take note of the dialogue between the two leaders. There is a strong record-keeping system. Even though, Deuba insisted to meet his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi alone. Modi agreed to meet Deuba alone but on his side, there was a lady officer to note down what they talked about.

The Nepal government doesn’t know what Deuba and Modi talked about but the Indian government knows about the dialogue between the two leaders.

In future, if needed to expose Deuba, anytime, the record can be released by the Indian authorities but from the Nepal side, we cannot counter it as we don’t have the record.

Anyway, it is okay for the Nepali leaders!

Quotes of the Week

*Is there a better explanation and example of total surrenderism than discarding Prithvinarayan but offering tribute to Gandhi at Rajghat, discarding Pashupatinath Temple but offering special pooja at the Kashi Bishwanath Temple?

Deepak Gyawali

*No self-proclaimed Left liberal dares to criticize/question the practices, rituals, etc. of any other religions except the Hindu religion, — some with the fear of losing dollar income and some others with the fear of possible threats.

  • Pampha Bhusal and Birodh Khatiwada’s visit to Kashi (Vanarashi), performing pooja at the Kashi Vishwanath and Kal Bhairab temples are the special achievements of PM Deuba’s India visit.

This is what we call BJP-nization of the Nepali comrades!

Anil Giri

  • It is election time. Education, health, employment, development, and good governance are not being discussed as the people have lost faith in the party and its leaders in these matters. Nepal-centric manoeuvres of power nations are on the rise. The leaders’ focus is on defending the existence of their ‘faction’ by appeasing foreigners rather than serving the national interest.

Surya Raj Acharya

  • If constructed a hospital, already, there are private hospitals and they will face a loss. If built a school, already, there are private boarding schools and they will face a loss. If built a road, there will be no place for dozers to dig the hills. And what can the poor leaders do without building a view tower!
