Jazeera and Thai Air Asia are preparing to fly to Bhairahawa

Kathmandu, August 28: Jazeera Airways and Thai Air Asia are preparing to resume flights to Bhairahawa’s Gautambuddha International Airport. Both of these airlines had suspended flights to Bhairahawa in the past.

Thai Air Asia is preparing to fly on the winter schedule starting from October 26. The airline operates two flights per week. Similarly, Jazeera Air also plans to fly in the winter ‘season’.
Several chartered flights are operating at the Gautam Buddha Airport. Information Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority Gyanendra Bhool expressed confidence that Thai Air Asia and Jazeera Airlines would operate regular flights from this winter season.

Jazeera is flying from Kuwait to Kathmandu. The authority believes that after the start of Sichuan Airlines flights from Pokhara and Jazeera and Thai Air Asia from Bhairawa, other foreign airlines will also be attracted to both airports.

The government has given attractive discounts to foreign airlines flying to Pokhara and Bhairahawa. Currently, the entire fee for international flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa has been waived off. There is no need to pay any additional fee other than 25 percent of the deposit in the ‘Ground Handling’ service provided by Nepal Airlines Corporation. The concession for international flights from these two airports has been given by the government since 2018. The government has given an exemption in accordance with the ‘comprehensive reform of the civil aviation sector and the action plan for the operation of Gautam Buddha and Pokhara International Airports’. There is a discount on the passenger service fee of Rs 3000 per air ticket for international flights from these two airports.
