All women crew members conduct Dubai-Kathmandu flights

Kathmandu, 9 March: Coinciding the International Labour Women’s Day on 8 March, the entire women crew members from Nepal Airlines conducted the Dubai-Kathmandu flight establishing a record. 

A team of female crew members was assigned to operate the wide-body Airbus RA-320 from Dubai to Kathmandu. 

Caption Bhawana Giri Pant commanded the flight, whereas, Sirjana Rawat was the first officer on the flight. 

IFS Basna Rana, flight pressure Anjak Maharjan, and air hostesses Sangita KC and Anisha Prajapati were the crew members on the flight. 

Upon their arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati and executive chairman of the Nepal Airlines Corporation Ubraj Adhikari congratulated the female crew members for successfully operating the flight. 

There are a total of nine female pilots, one flying A-330, four A-320 and four flying stall aircraft on domestic routes. There are 96 female air hostesses out of 145 cabin crews. 

Earlier on Sunday, 5 March, Pant and Rawat had successfully commanded the cockpit while flying to Dubai from Kathmandu. This is the first flight commanded by the two female pilots in the history of the Corporation.
