Not journalists but party workers

BABBLES

By Babbler

In a democracy, all the organs function democratically. In a loot-tantra, it is impossible. The five-party electoral alliance is odd. More than that, it is unholy when a democratic party allies with a communist party. It seems the leaders are doubtful about the alliance’s result in the vote. Therefore, the media organizations identifying themselves as being close to the five parties have stated to vote for the alliance candidates only. We can see such party-affiliated media only in Nepal and in fact, those associated with political parties are not journalists but the party workers in the real term.

Nilkantha Upreti’s worry

When Arju Rana Deuba said that if the Nepali Congress workers don’t vote for the NC supported candidates, she would not send the budget to the local bodies. Arju Rana believes, still, there is a Rana rule.

Her husband and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said the Chitwan gathering to vote for “sickle and hammer” but not for the “tree”.

More than that, Maoist supremo Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda said that the nation would face an unfortunate accident if his daughter Renu Dahal is defeated!

Former election commissioner Nilkatha Upreti was ashamed of such remarks from the leaders! He just remarked that it is unfortunate!

The principal formula for an electoral alliance is Renu Dahal’s victory in the post of Bharatpur mayor but such an electoral alliance is going to become very costly for the Nepali Congress in the future.

Prachanda’s love for daughter Renu has exhibited his political height.

Weakness of electoral alliance

The main weakness of the five-party alliance is that there is no political agenda. The other weakness is that the alliance partners believe it is a must as the opponent is strong. As it is an artificial alliance developed in the interests of the high-level leaders of different political parties, hardcore NC supporters will not vote for the communist candidates and hardcore communist voters will not vote for the NC candidates. Therefore, it is assumed that the electoral alliance would turn negative for the alliance partners.

QUOTES OF THE WEEK

  • Nation-builder Prithvinarayan Shah had instructed to run the mines for making the country self-reliant and increase the country’s income. But Shantiman Shrestha has written on his Facebook wall that 90% of Nepal’s mining has already been occupied by foreigners. What is the fact?

  • As long as NGOs and INGOs will have their presence in Nepal, conversion of religion will continue and Sanatan Dharma will continue to be attacked.

  • Since the beginning of the local elections process, the entire energy of the coalition leaders has been spent on ‘justifying the alliance’. Oli, on the other hand, is claiming that the five-party alliance is unjustifiable.

Is this an election issue? Development, education, employment, corruption, etc. are all gone!

Laxman Ghimire

  • NC central member Dr. Arju Deuba has made such an objectionable comment, however, her remarks on the election symbol “Karuwa” (water jar) in Dadeldhura election became popular. It has become a good election campaign for the NC candidate.

Congratulations to the NC BP, MP Karna Malla and its candidates for this. It is said that the positive side is also hidden in the negative event!

Babita Basnet

  • I am shocked and surprised by such objectionable remarks by a person like Arju Rana that the government would not give funds to the local bodies where NC will not receive the vote.

Shouldn’t the state protect those who don’t vote for NC? Is this democracy?

Dr. Prakash C Lohani

  • If we fail to save the nation from the grip of those power-addict people, we cannot avoid a civil war in offing soon.

  • The bad fate of a tiny and weak nation starts when a big and powerful nation suddenly shows love, admiration and support. The latest example is Ukraine. Others are fighting the war but Ukraine is being destroyed. A lot of things go wrong if you don’t know how to deal with love, give and take, and support.
