Woman rescued on 11th day of Bhotekoshi floods

Kathmandu, September 5: A woman was rescued alive on the 11th day of the incident from the fourth floor of a house in Betravati, Ward No. 10 of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot. A team from the Armed Police Force rescued Chandika Shrestha, wife of local resident Anand Shrestha, safely from the upper floor of the four-storey house.

The rescue team deployed under the command of Armed Police Inspector Suman Bik brought Shrestha out alive. Following the rescue, preparations are underway to fly her to Kathmandu by helicopter for immediate further treatment.

Armed Police Force Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa, the force’s deputy spokesperson, said that the team under Inspector Suman Bik had rescued her alive from the fourth floor on the 11th day. He said preparations were being made to bring her to Kathmandu by helicopter as she required immediate medical treatment.
