Chinese national trapped inside Upper Trishuli-1 tunnel in Rasuwa rescued in 11 days

A Chinese national trapped inside a tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project in Rasuwa has been rescued alive after 11 days. The foreign national, who had been trapped inside the tunnel following the Lenhe-Bhotekoshi disaster, was successfully rescued by a team of the Nepali Army.

The Nepali Army has officially confirmed that the rescue operation was completed by releasing a photograph of the rescued Chinese national. Rescue operations are continuing at other hydropower projects buried by the floods.

The massive flood in the Bhotekoshi River caused water and mud to fill the tunnels of hydropower projects, trapping more than 900 technicians and employees inside.
