Kathmandu, Sept 5: The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has expelled four members of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly, along with dozens of party activists, accusing them of engaging in activities contrary to the party’s policies, principles, statute, decisions and directives.
Those expelled are Santosh Kumar Pandey, elected from Rupandehi constituency 3(1); Hema Belbase (KC), elected under the proportional representation system; Bhandarilal Ahir, elected from Banke constituency 2(1); and Aadesh Kumar Agrawal, elected from Banke constituency 2(2).
According to the JSP, disciplinary action was taken after they voted in favor of the Lumbini provincial government against the party’s decision and also joined the government.
A meeting of the Central Executive Committee held from September 1 to 3 also decided to expel elected representatives and party activists at various levels from party membership as disciplinary action. Those affected are from local governments and party units in districts including Siraha, Parsa, Khotang, Bhojpur, Udayapur, Ilam and Sunsari.
The meeting unanimously welcomed and supported the formation of the AgraGami Morcha. It also decided that the entire party organization would actively participate in and help ensure the success of all programs announced by the front.
JSP General Secretary Dr. Surendra Kumar Jha said the party has also decided to organize district-level gatherings and training programs for senior party workers to strengthen the organization and orient its cadres.
