Kathmandu Metropolis City’s Mayor Balen has a vision. He alone is capable to do much more to return the beauty of the Kathmandu Metropolis City. Such an act is not digestible for the leaders of big political parties as they all are involved in daylight loot and rampant corruption. Therefore, they all are against Balen and conspiring to fail him.
Be that as it may, the Kathmanduites are with Mayor Balen who speaks less and works a lot.
When partisan politics enters in the FNJ
Now, the Federation of Nepalis Journalists (FNJ) is no more a professional organization looking after the welfare and rights of Nepali journalists. This organization, like others, has turned into a sister organization of the political parties.
According to the organisation’s statute, the election of the FNJ had to take place on time. Unfortunately, it has not taken place.
A group of journalists locks up the FNJ building, whereas, another group breaks the lock. This trend has continued for weeks. The reason is that the FNJ leadership has distributed journalist membership to political workers rather than professional journalists.
Earlier, the FNJ had adopted the indirect election system and representatives from small media could also come in the leadership position. Now, the media organization has adopted a direct election system and without support from the political party and also an alliance between the two groups from two different political parties, it is impossible to win the election.
Currently, as there is the UML-Maoist alliance government, the NC-supporting journalists are in the minority. Following the new NC-UML alliance government, those NC-UML supporting groups are going to become strong. Therefore, a section is opposing immediate election.
Big achievement?
Our DPM and Foreign Minister, Narayankaji Shrestha, has informed with a big pride that Kuwait, where, currently one hundred thousand Nepali laborers are serving, has decided to consume a further two hundred thousand laborers.
Minister Shrestha’s remarks represent the government’s priority that it has given top priority for exporting our youth force to foreign countries.
It is unfortunate to state that there are no youth in the country and the government is intended to send more and more youths to foreign countries just for dirty jobs!
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
We need a good doctor to treat, we need a good carpenter to build a house, but we don’t need a good person to build a country? Now, that’s it! Open your mind.

They have become our leaders who initiate foreigners’ plans, their money, and their weapons, burn people’s houses, rob their own country’s banks/murder citizens/do corruption/not allow citizens to eat/disrupt the organs of the state. They may face the fate of Saddam on the day when people wake up.

Seven crores of Indian currencies have turned into waste paper in the Rashtra Bank for 8 years. This is a mirror that shows the blurred relationship between Nepal and India. After the President’s desire for “telephone diplomacy”, five prime ministers, during their seven visits, have not been able to show the diplomatic skills to open the locked door for improving relations with India.
Ramesh Nath Pandey
In a democracy, the people elect a leader to run the country. The leader who runs the country may not choose the agenda of the people. In such a situation, the democratic system will fall into chaos. This is what happened in Nepal!

Abolishment of the proportional election is good for the country and the people, it will also be good for the political parties.

The Maoists came from an armed movement. It is like Prachanda’s fantasy club instead of becoming a party. That is the status of Upendra Yadav’s Forum, built on the foundations of the Madhes movement. The people chose the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Ravi Lamichhane) against the opposition of the old parties and party leaders.

Rather than hoping for a party with foreign principles and a party with no ideals, it is in the interest of the country to promote a party with indigenous ideas.
