BABBLES

The Wikileaks had leaked a report of the American Embassy that Gagan Thapa was the “contact person” of the embassy.
In foreign countries, many “personalities” lost their careers due to the Wikileaks disclosure but in Nepal, the very person is challenging the government.
Thapa has asked the Prime Minister to delete the House record of being a “foreign agent” or give a statement by the PM.
Shameless politics!
Who was King Birendra?
King Birendra was the saviour of Nepal. Immediately after he became the king, proposed Nepal a “Zone of Peace”. This proposal was accepted by 118 countries including China, and the USA but not by India.
This ZOP was quietly removed from the 1990 constitution without any justification by those horses fed by India.
King Birendra was the architect of the mid-Hill highway, but it has been named after the Madan Bhandari Highway. The King played a remarkable role in establishing the headquarters of ICIMOD and SAARC in Nepal.
Such a great king was assassinated on June 1, 2001. We pay tribute to the great King.
Juddhasadak footpath
The Balen Shah-led Kathmandu Metropolis Corporation decided to widen the footpath by narrowing the road at Juddhasadak.
But the Road Department intervened in the Metropolis’ plan and blacktopped the road demarked by the Metropolis for widening the footpath.
Many roads need to be repaired but the Department is reluctant in the maintenance of these roads. Why did it decide to tussle with the Kathmandu Metropolis?
Be that as it may, Balen Shah’s strong words against UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli are enough to understand partisan politics.
One tree equals one refrigerator
This Babbler read a report that one tree is equal to one refrigerator for keeping the area cold.
In India, around four hundred people have died due to the heat wave. The temperature recorded in different parts of India is around 54 celsius. Human activities, excessive use of coal and diesel and operation of industries have contributed to global warming.
Why shouldn’t a tree plantation campaign be launched to keep the temperature balanced?
Let’s assume, how many trees can we grow if each citizen plants one tree at their home! After all, it is not impossible and not a burden economically! Let’s think about saving the planet.
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
In 10 years, King Mahendra opened 850 government schools, 43 hospitals and 212 industries, and the foreign debt was zero, but those who dreamed of making the country Switzerland in 10 years by changing the system, where did they reach the people and the country in these 17 years?

It is wrong to retain federalism by taking loans.

There is a lack of necessary infrastructure to provide hydropower to industries, but it is being exported to India.
Therefore, out of the 500 million dollars of the MCC, 400 million dollars should be made for the necessary infrastructure for excessive electricity consumption in the country, but the government doesn’t listen.

In other countries, the footpath is kept wide. Efforts made by Mayor Balen Shah have to be commended. The footpath from RNAC to Indrachowk should be widened.

To preserve Tarai, Mahabharata, Chure and Tarai should be connected and integrated with the project of nature and environmental protection should be conducted.
But the politics is based on Madheshi identity!

In the understanding of the intellectuals, the visit of Nepali leaders to Delhi is happening only to secure their posts rather than to improve the relations between the two countries.
Rupa Joshi
Mayor Balen questions how the footpath becomes narrow when some space of the parking lot is used for widening the footpath.
Nepal Press
Embassies are opened in unnecessary countries by abusing the taxes paid by the people. Ambassadors are appointed only to receive salaries, allowances and services, not for diplomatic work.
Narendra Bikram Chand
The main character of the RSP, which emerged under the slogan of uprooting the old parties, has become (to save himself) approving the misdeeds of the old parties and protecting them.
Bishnu Sapkota
After the loss of credibility, the narratives developed by the mainstream press no longer work as they once did. The common citizen’s wisdom (crowd wisdom) becomes active. Based on this, public opinion is decided. But there is a problem with this too. It is time for the Nepali press to reflect on this matter and do a self-examination.
