The dress code

BABBLES

By Babbler

Newly arrived Chinese ambassador Chen Song is always seen in a “Mao suit”, the formal national dress of China during official programmes.

It could be a message for the top-ranking Maoist leaders in Nepal who prefer “suit and tie” instead of wearing Nepali national dress Daura-Surwal”!

Poor Deuba!

Nepali Congress is the largest party in Parliament. The party could enjoy different posts if party president Sher Bahadur Deuba would have had handed over the PM’s post to Maoist Center chairman Pushpakamal Dahal. The previous alliance could continue further. When following the advice from his foreign powers, Deuba decided to continue as the PM and also informed Dahal that the party was unable to give the presidential post to the Maoist party. Deuba’s greediness for power became very costly for the Nepali Congress.

Moreover, violating the norms of the parliamentary system, Deuba put pressure on the NC MPs to vote in favour of a vote of confidence. NC’s decision created a question of whether the party is a partner in the ruling alliance or an opposition party.

Finally, Deuba had to write a letter seeking the party’s identity as the main opposition party!

How incapable leadership creates political chaos, is an example.

Daylight loot

A notorious business organisation Bishal Group has been able to capture the prime land of Bal Mandir (Children’s Temple) in Naxal, under the influence and protection of the political leadership.

Rita Singh, daughter of the late Ganeshman Singh and sister of NC leader MP and NC leader Prakashman Singh, is also involved in the transfer of the public property in the capacity of the then chair of the Bal Mandir.

The case is similar to the Lalita Niwas case of capturing government property. How the government respond to this scandal, has to be seen!

QUOTES OF THE WEEK

  • The present parliament formed under the subjudice constitution cannot be the people’s parliament.

Devendra Lal Nepali

  • The present political system, constitution and governance have provided the role of “kingmakers” to some leaders. This system will never serve the country and the people except to fulfill the interests of foreigners.

Jeevan Shreshtha

  • Even if I die, my country should exist: King Mahendra.

Even if the country will demise, we should continue to enjoy power: Present-day leaders.

Sarbesh Aryal

  • Congress is the one who gave birth to Maoists. How did Congress hurt the people in Karnali, that all are aware of! Communists are a strong force in Nepal. To create a division among the communists, Maoist was born. If the communists are not divided, Congress will never be in power.

Ramesh Kandel

  • We are unfortunate to see the present fate of the Nepali Congress. To sit on the opposition is the constitutional right of the party but NC is unable to claim this. How will the democrats in the country take this issue?

Daman Nath Dhungana

  • Prachanda’s cabinet has become more like a circus company performing one after another ‘stunt’ than focusing on political seriousness. And Prachanda has become the manager of the circus company, not the prime minister of the country.

Dambar Khatiwada

  • Structural reform is required in Nepal. One of them is the reform in government expenditure. But, how? Simple, reverse the proportion of recurrent and capital expenditures. It needs more unpopular decisions. Who takes the risk and when?

Suman Neupane

  • To complete the “people’s war” in Nepal, it is not enough for Prachanda to be the prime minister, Baburam Bhattarai must be made the president.

The Nepali Congress Party, which directly and indirectly supported the massacre of 17 thousand of Nepali people, should be put in a footnote.

We are aware, of who was behind the “people’s war”!

Madhav Acharya

I see that the country will be facing a serious accident.

Chitra Bahadur KC

  • I am a citizen of a country, where, the home minister’s citizenship is illegal.

Ushakiran Timsena

Political leaders didn’t leave Balmandir also. They have finished all structures created by the Kings. In districts, Balmandir was being operated as the pre-schools. It had its own building and was beautiful to look at.

Dipak Poudyal

  • I had never seen the Himalayas without snow. The nation should be serious about the impacts of climate change!

Bhim Rawal

  • Congress lost power due to a lack of basic strategic skills in politics. The ‘reactionary’ manoeuvres adopted by the Congress after losing power, including the claim of being the main opposition party, have eroded the political credibility of the Congress, and risk further erosion if this trend continues.

The country is looking for a strong Congress out of power.
