Kathmandu, April 30: Seventeen people have died in a jeep accident that occurred on Thursday at Jaljala in Thawang, Rolpa.

According to police, a Bolero jeep (registration number Lu 1 Ja 4167) traveling from Rukum East to Jaljala fell about 800 meters down a cliff, causing the accident.

Police have confirmed that the death toll has reached 17 and stated that rescue operations are still ongoing at the accident site.
