
Kathmandu, Aug 29: Banks participating in the 18th NADA Auto Show 2026 have introduced a range of attractive auto loan schemes, offering customers relatively lower interest rates, flexible repayment periods, reduced service fees and special facilities for electric vehicle loans.
A total of 13 commercial banks from the government and private sectors are participating in the auto show. Their auto loan interest rates range from 4.66% to 5.99%, although loan terms, interest rate structures and other charges vary by bank.
Agricultural Development Bank is offering the lowest rate, at 4.66%, for loans of up to seven years. It is also offering a 33.33% discount on service fees and interest rate premiums. For EV purchases, the bank will finance up to 80% of the vehicle’s value.
Nepal Bank is offering auto loans at 4.94% throughout the auto show.
Rastriya Banijya Bank is offering loans at 5.02% on a floating interest rate, with a repayment period of up to seven years. Customers can borrow up to Rs 10 million. The service fee has been reduced from the usual 0.75% to 0.50% during the show.
Nabil Bank is offering loans at 5.17%, with financing available against a 20% down payment. Under the scheme, customers pay 20% as a down payment, another 20% through a credit card and the remaining 60% through a bank loan.
NIC Asia Bank is offering a fixed interest rate of 5.99% for up to seven years. It also provides loans under a floating rate. For EVs, the bank can finance up to 80% of the vehicle’s value.
Global IME Bank is offering EV loans at 5.17%. For a seven-year loan, the rate will remain at 5.17% for the first three years. For the remaining four years, the rate will be based on the prevailing base rate plus 2%.
Machhapuchchhre Bank is offering auto loans at 5.45% for up to 10 years, giving customers a longer repayment period than the seven years offered by most other banks. Its service fee has been reduced from 0.50% to 0.25% during the show.
Prabhu Bank is offering loans at 5.44%, with a maximum premium of 0.50% over the base rate.
Laxmi Sunrise Bank is offering seven-year floating rate loans at 5.49%, with a 0.50% service fee.
Kumari Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Siddhartha Bank and Nepal Investment Mega Bank are offering rates of 5.21%, 5.54%, 5.96% and 5.13%, respectively. These banks are offering loans for up to seven years at floating rates, with a 0.50% service fee.
The banks have competed not only on interest rates but also on loan tenure, service charges, down payment requirements and financing limits for EV purchases.
