Ram Raja’s new plan

Ram Raja Prasad Singh, the self-exiled anti-monarchical leader of the small Janabedi Party, will return to Nepal by the third week of February 1994, according to his party’s politburo member Chandra Madhave Prasad Singh Kushvaha.

The Janabadi Party has recently changed its strategy for overthrowing the monarchy in Nepal, said Kushavaha.

The party has abandoned the policy of armed struggle and now intends to take part in the coming general elections, he said.

“But our party has not accepted the present constitutions,” he added. He said his party would join hands with republican forces in Nepal to advance its cause.
