
Kathmandu, 29 September: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has informed that Nepal is preparing to enter into bilateral air agreements with three countries including the European country Switzerland while expanding the international air network.
Nepal has signed bilateral air agreements with 40 countries of the world and has prepared air agreements with Switzerland, Indonesia and Rwanda, said Budhisagar Lamichhane, head of the Civil Aviation division of the Ministry and joint secretary. He said that since the necessary paperwork for the air agreement with all three countries has been completed, the agreement will be made after fixing the time and place.
Joint Secretary Lamichhane said, “Now we are in the process of signing new air agreements with three countries, Switzerland, Rwanda and Indonesia. The draft of the air agreement will soon be approved by the Council of Ministers, he informed.
As the bilateral air agreement is also an important part of international diplomacy, the government’s policy is to expand it gradually. Air agreement is also a matter related to the pride of Nepal, he said.
