
Kathmandu, Aug 21: Prime Minister Balendra Shah left for Muktinath with his family at around 7:45 am on Thursday to visit the Muktinath temple.
The prime minister’s entourage departed Baluwatar in vehicles bearing registration numbers Ba Pra 030 Cha 9595 and Ba Pra 033 Cha 5324. The team is scheduled to travel to Muktinath via Thankot, Kurintar, Pokhara and Kushma.
An Augusta VIP helicopter is on standby at Pokhara Airport in case it is needed. The helicopter had previously sustained damage, including a broken blade, after it was attacked with stones while responding to the crowd assault on former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at his private residence in Budhanilkantha on September 10 last year. The helicopter has since been repaired.
