Alliance parties meet to protect ex-PMs Nepal, Bhattarai

Kathmandu, 15 August: At a time when the Special Bureau of Investigation (SBI) under the Nepal Police is preparing to interrogate ex-prime ministers Madhav Nepal and Baburam Bhattarai, parties in the government alliance held a meeting at Baluatar, PM’s official residence, on Monday afternoon. 

Following the recent Supreme Court order to investigate those top-ranking political leaders who approved the Lalitaniwas government land grab scam, the SBI has prepared to interrogate Nepal and Bhattarai. 

The meeting focused on how to protect the former prime ministers. The party closed legal experts and also attorney general also attended the meeting. 

The meeting also discussed the Gaur bloodbath and continuous obstruction of the House meeting.
