Zhang Qicheng, Editor-in-chief of the influential Shanghai daily Wen Hui Bao and Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Journalists’ Association expressed satisfaction with the recent statement of Home Minister Khadga Prasad Oli that Nepalese territory will not be allowed for promoting anti-Chinese activities.
He made that comment to this reporter when asked for his reaction on the recent proposal for a “peace march” to Lhasa, now scrubbed, through Nepal by Tibetans Living in Dharmashala, India.
Zhang, who was recently in Nepal on a four day visit heading a three member press delegation, spoke warmly of relations between Nepal and China, “linked by mountains and rivers”.
