
Kathmandu, February 19: Today, Falgun 7 according to the Nepali calendar, the nation is observing National Democracy Day. The government has announced a national holiday and organizing different programs today.
The Day is being observed recalling the people’s movement in 2007 against the autocratic family rule in the country.
Following the martyrdom of Dharmabhakta Mathema, Dasharath Chand, Gangalal Shrestha, King Tribhuvan’s sacrifice and mass agitation against the Rana rule, the nation achieved democracy 73 years ago.
