Federal system with republic turned into rampant corruption: Kamal Thapa

Kathmandu, February 19: RPP Nepal President Kamal Thapa has said that the federal system with the republic has transformed into a corruption and smuggling system.

In a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday on the occasion of Tribhuvan Memorial Day, Democracy Day and RPP Nepal’s founding anniversary, Chairman Thapa said that the secular, republican federal system has failed in the country as the system is transforming into corruption and smuggling.

Thapa argued that the leaders of major parties were involved in scandals such as Bhutanese refugees and Lalita Niwas government land grabs, among other scandals, so the supreme leaders are engaged in protecting their own people. He said that while left-wing communist and socialist ideas have been proven to be failures in the world, the extreme version of left-wing ideas is advancing in Nepal’s politics under Maoist leadership.
