NC CWC meet: Shekhar Koirala says NC should not ally with any party in the upcoming elections

Kathmandu, February 16: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that no alliance should be made with any party in the upcoming elections.

While submitting a written opinion at the central working committee meeting held at the party headquarters in Sanepa, he also said that the Mahasamiti meeting should be able to decide whether the Congress should go to the elections alone or not.

He said that the Congress should not develop electoral alliances or coordination at any level of election in the future.

The Nepali Congress should not enter into an electoral alliance or coordination with any political party at every level of election, he said, “With the current election system, there is no possibility of any party getting a majority.”

Therefore, the Nepali Congress must initiate dialogue with all the parties to change the election system through constitutional amendment, Koirala said.
