Nepal Army and US Army hold joint exercise

Kathmandu, February 9: Nepal Army and the US Army on Tuesday launched a joint training ‘X-Balance Nail’ focusing on disaster management, search and rescue, and humanitarian assistance.

This is the 41st edition of the joint exercise, which has been in operation since 2060 BS. A total of 46 personnel including 36 from the Nepal Army and 10 from the US Army, are participating in the joint training exercise. The training exercise will be conducted in Chhauni and Nagarkot areas till March 7.

The Nepal Army has been participating in joint training and exercises with military organizations of the US, UK, India, China, Mongolia, and Indonesia, among others, on search and rescue, disaster management, counter-terrorism, mountaineering and UNITED NATIONS peacekeeping missions.

According to the Nepal Army, the fourth edition of the multinational exercise peace effort is going to be organized with the support of the Global Peace Operations Initiative at the Birendra Peace Operations Training Center from February 20 to March 4.
