Kathmandu-Muglin Road fully blocked after flood undercuts Krishnabhir

Kathmandu, Aug 30: The Kathmandu Muglin road has been completely blocked after flooding caused further damage at Krishnabhir in Dhading.

The road was disrupted as increased water flow in the Trishuli River, triggered by flooding from the Bhotekoshi, eroded the road section from below.

According to Dhading Chief District Officer Laxmi Pandey Gautam, the flood undercut the road at Krishnabhir in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality 7, causing part of the road to sink.

The highway had briefly reopened after being blocked earlier Sunday morning, but was shut down completely again shortly afterward.

The closure has left passengers stranded along the route.

Chitwan Police said vehicles travelling from Narayangadh toward Kathmandu and those heading from Kathmandu toward Narayangadh have been stopped until further notice.
