
Kathmandu, August 27: Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu has been following up developments and assessing the post-flood situation in contact with the Foreign Ministry of Nepal. So far, there is no report of any Bangladeshi that died or got injured in this disaster. However, some Bangladeshis got stuck in the highway (Kathmandu-Pokhara) due to temporary road block which they finally overcame reaching their destinations.
The Embassy has conveyed the condolences and solidarity of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman with the government and the resilient people of Nepal and the keen desire and willingness of his government to extend any kind of assistance and support required including relief materials for the flood affected people. The Embassy was also instrumental in arranging a telephone conversation between Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and Shisir Khanal, Foreign Minister of Nepal this noon which reflects the longstanding cordiality and warmth of the bilateral collaboration between the two countries.
