
Kathmandu, 10 April: Ambassador of Pakistan designate Abrar H Hashmi arrived in Kathmandu this morning for assuming office.
Hashmi will assume office after presenting a letter of credence to President Ramchandra Paudel.
Hashmi, a career diplomat, earlier to his ambassadorial assignment in Nepal, was serving as the Consul General in Texas Houston, USA.
He held important assignments both at Pakistani missions abroad and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.
He has obtained a Master’s degree in International Policy (Australia) and is also a Science Graduate from Peshawar University (1991-93).
Hashim is a fellow on “freshwater diplomacy” (2017-18) at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA), Carleton University, Canada.
He has also served as the Director, “Kashmir & India (2009-10) division dealing with bilateral political issues, the Kashmir dispute and water sharing etc.
