‘Political involvement’ in the gang that turned 875 Nepalis into Bhutanese

Kathmandu, 7 April: The involvement of the political leadership has been revealed with a gang that collects Rs 1 million to 50 million from 875 Nepalis for changing them as Bhutanese refugees and taking them to the United States.

It has been confirmed that Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who is currently the UML Secretary, helped the gang, which also included Indrajit Rai, the then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’s security advisor. The police have also seized a check of Rs. 15 million issued in the name of Rayamaji’s son Sandeep.

It has been confirmed from the documents that Rai, the then Home Minister Thapa’s security advisor, his son Niraj Thapa, Keshav Prasad Dulal, Sandesh Sharma, Sanu Bhandari, Ashok Pokharel, Sagar Thulung Rai and Tank Gurung were active members of the gang in collection the aforementioned amount, according to Kantipur Daily.
