‘Improving country’s economy will be first priority’

Kathmandu, 6 April: Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said improving the country’s economy would be his first priority.

During the meeting with office-bearers of the Editors Society this morning, Minister Mahat observed, “The government is engaged in the preparation of the budget for the coming fiscal year. The main focus of the budget will be improving the faltering economy.”

He mentioned that the government’s Common Minimum Programme would be brought through a consensus of the ruling alliance. The office-bearers of the Society congratulated and wished Minister Mahat for a successful term. Society’s patron Kiran Vaidya, Chairperson Puru Risal, Senior Vice-Chair Pushpa Raj Pradhan, Vice Chair Kailash Pradhan, General Secretary Shyam Kaji Dotel, Secretary Narayan Upadhaya, Executive Member Madhav Dulal, among others, were present on the occasion.
