
Kathmandu, 4 March: The authority to spend a certain amount at the discretion of the Home Minister, Home Secretary and Chief District Officer in the name of collecting secret information has finally been annulled by the Cabinet.
A Cabinet meeting on Monday evening decided to repeal the regulation that entrusted them authority to spend in an unapparent way. The regulation had provisioned that the Home Minister could spend up to Rs 50,000 daily and the secretary up to Rs 25,000 without keeping a record. With this, the minister and secretary have no power to arbitrarily spending a single penny from the state coffer.
