
Kathmandu, 24 February: A meeting of major political parties held to discuss about the nomination for the presidential election failed to reach to a conclusion, though it dwelt on multiple alternatives and agreed to meet again this evening for further discussion on the issue.
The leaders of Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have also agreed to revive the pre-election coalition.Talking to media following the meeting, NC general secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa informed that the top leaders of the four parties have agreed in principal to revive the old alliance. According to leader Thapa,final and formal decision will be announced after the meeting tonight.
Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal and Janata Samajbadi Party Chair Upendra Yadav were among those attending the meeting.
