Kathmandu, 17 February: China has emphasized on border security to fully open the Tatopani border crossing. In a face-to-face discussion between government officials of Nepal and China at the Miteri bridge on Thursday, China raised the issue of security for the hassle -free movement of cargo freights in the border.
The meeting was held between the officials of Sindhupalchok District Administration, Immigration, Security Agency, Customs Chief and Nyalam County Administration, Security Agency, Immigration, Security Agency and other officials from China.
Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchok, Ramesh Neupane informed that the officials of the two countries discussed border security, mutual interests and trade promotion. “Discussion was focused on not allowing criminal activities to take place on the border of the two countries,” said Neupane. He also said that the Chinese side was positive to Nepal’s concern.
