Kathmandu, 30 January: Martyrs Day is being observed today in memory of the heroic deed of those who fought against tyrannical rulers and systems over times so that Nepali people became free and sovereign.
Martyrs Sukraraj Shastri, Dharma Bhakta Mathema, Dasharath Chand and Gangalal Shrestha, who sacrificed their precious lives for civil liberty, establishment of democracy and protection of nationality are paid tributes today across the country. The freedom and rights we are enjoying today is the result of their martyrdom.
