Kathmandu, 28 January: Though the Supreme Court (SC) verdict has revoked Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane’s all posts for not having a citizenship, it has remained silent about acquiring a Nepali passport submitting false details. Now question arises, will the state investigate into it and punish him.
Legal experts state that the SC verdict has paved the way for investigation on allegations against him of acquiring a Nepali passport submitting false details and if found guilt will be thrown behind the bars. The police investigation about the issue had stopped once Lamichhane became home minister. And it was crystal clear why he chose the home ministry. The issue of passport cannot be neglected and investigation has to start immediately, say the legal experts.
