
Kathmandu, 12 January: Parliamentary Party leader of the CPN (UML), Lumbini Province, Leela Giri, has been appointed Chief Minister of the Province.
Lumbini Province Chief Amik Sherchan appointed Giri to the post in accordance with Article 168 (2) of Constitution of Nepal on Wednesday. Giri was appointed the Chief Minister with the support of 58 province assembly members—seven political parties including CPN (UML) and two independent lawmakers.
CM Giri is scheduled to take oath of office and secrecy at the capital of Lumbini Province, Deukhuri, today.
