Kathmandu, 9 January: A recent executive committee meeting of the Editors’ Society of Nepal (ESON) has decided to award the Govinda Biyogi Journalism Award-2023 to Nawaraj Chalise, news coordinator of the News 24, television channel.
Accordingly, Madhav Poudel, editor, Nepalface.com, is being awarded the Govinda Biyogi Special Journalism Award-2023.
The two awards established by ESON in honour of its founding chairman the late Govinda Biyogi consist of Rs 25001 and Rs 15001 respectively.
The meeting also decided to felicitate Nir Shah for his remarkable contribution to establishing Nepal Television, the first television station in the country.
Also, for their outstanding contribution to the field of journalism, the Society decided to honour senior journalists Khildhoj Thapa, Bud Rana and Bimala Tumkhewa.
The award handing over ceremony and also felicitation ceremony are going to take place on 21 January at the Society’s building in Sure Chour, Shivapuri 7.
