Two-way trade between Nepal, China resumes

Kathmandu, 29 December: Rasuwa/Kerung port between Nepal and the People’s Republic of China has
officially resumed its operation for two-way trade from Wednesday. The Department of
Commerce of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China organized an official ceremony in Kerung on Wednesday to observe the opening of the port. six cargo trucks full of Nepali goods passed through the port into China.

Similarly, Hilsa/Purang port has also been opened for one-way trade from 26
December 2022. The resumption of the ports is expected to augment bilateral trade between Nepal
and China.

Meanwhile, Chinese embassy here has stated, “The two-way trade through the Kerung/Rasuwagadhi border port has been resumed today. After a ceremony, 6 cargo trucks full of Nepali goods passed through the port into China. Looking forward to more Nepal’s export to China!”
