Kathmandu, 19 December: A team led by Indian Army Major Gen J.S. Sandhu has arrived in Kathmandu. Gen Sandhu was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Assistant Gen Vinod Kharel.
According to the Nepali Army, Major Gen Sandhu will meet with Chief of Army Staff Gen Prabhuram Sharma and will visit the Command and Staff College of the Nepali Army, the Nepali Military Academy, the Nepali Military War College, Birendra Peace Training Center, etc.
In addition, Gen Sandhu will also visit religious and tourist places including the Nepal Army Battle School, where Nepal-India joint military exercises are taking place. Gen Sandhu will stay in Nepal till December 24.
According to the agreement reached between the Government of Nepal and the Government of India at the meetings of the Nepal-India Bilateral Consultative Group on Security Issues (BCGSI), the visits were made by the high and middle-level officers of the armies of the two countries.
