Kathmandu, 23 November: CK Raut, chair of the Janamat Party has defeated Upendra Yadav, chair, Janata Samajwadi Party with a huge margin of votes from Saptari 2 constituency.
Yadav is defeated by a difference of 18 thousand 63 votes as Raut bagged 35 thousand 42 votes against Yadav’s 16 thousand 969 votes.
This is the first election since Raut joined the mainstream politics by surrendering the politics of violence demanding a separate Madhesh nation.
