Let’s take advantage of the zero customs facility granted by China: Vice President Pun

Kathmandu, 10 November: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun believes that the relationship between Nepal and China will be further expanded and strengthened through economic diplomacy. Addressing the 23rd annual general meeting of the Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry held in Kathmandu on Thursday, he said that the role of the private sector will be more effective in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

Pointing out that Nepal-China bilateral relations based on the principle of Panchsheel are expanding in various fields, he stated that the business situation of Nepal is not satisfactory, and added that there is a need for extensive reforms in the Nepali economy to build a developed and prosperous nation with the economic and social transformation of every Nepali.

In the past few years, new areas of cooperation have been identified to deepen and broaden the relations between Nepal and China. According to him, important agreements have been signed between the two countries and Nepal should utilize these agreements for the country’s prosperity.

The Vice President cited that China has facilitated Nepal with zero customs imports on different items. This facility should be fully utilized by Nepal, Pun said.
