Kathmandu, 1 November: The newly appointed US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean Richard Thompson, held a meeting with Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal this morning.
During the meeting, the two discussed the issues of bilateral relations, Nepali politics, and economic development, according to Chairperson Dahal’s secretariat. The former prime minister expressed gratitude to the US and its people for their assistance to Nepal. The US Ambassador Thompson assured that the US would continue its assistance to Nepal in order to achieve the sustainable and inclusive financial development.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Thompson paid a courtesy call on Finance Minister Janardan Sharma this afternoon. During the meeting, issues of bilateral interest and cooperation were discussed.
