
Kathmandu, 22 July: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB)has increased the bank interest rate to 8.5 percent. Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari said this while unveiling the monetary policy for the current fiscal year 2079/80 today.
The Central bank has increased the bank interest rate from 7 percent to 8 and a half percent.With this, the rate of transactions between banks will increase.The NRB has increased the limit of mandatory Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) from 3 percent to 4 percent in the current financial year. Now the banks will have to keep 4 percent of the deposit in balance. The Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) limit has also been increased.
