Kathmandu, 18 June: Chief of Army Staff Gen Prabhuram Sharma left for Lebanon today on an official visit.
Gen Sharma is heading a 7-member military delegation.
Gen Sharma will acquire information about the new plan of the UN Peacekeeping Mission and aims to encourage the Peacekeeping Force deployed in Lebanon.
Chief of Staff Gen Balkrishna Karki had seen off Gen Sharma at the Tribhuvan International Airport VIP Launch.
After Lebanon, Gen Sharma is paying a formal visit to Syria and then a formal five-day visit to the USA beginning on 27 June. He is scheduled to return on 3 July.
