One bizarre feature of the just-concluded visit to India of Prime Minister Mohan Mohan Adhikari is the shadow cast over it by Subash Ghising, President of the Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) and Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) chairman. Ghising who was in New Delhi during the Prime Minister’s recent presence in the Indian capita had decided to call a two-day bandh in the Darjeeling hills “prompted by the Nepal Prime Minister’s visit to the country” according to Marcus Dam of the Statesmen (April 15).
