The Indian government observed 31 October as the National Unity Day.
Many formal programmes were organised, according to the Indian news channels.
Yet, there lies a question, how far is India united.
In Kashmir, the Indian government has continued to impose a curfew since it suspended special privilege given to the Kashmiri people in the Indian constitution.
In some other areas also, different communities are demanding their independent states.
More interestingly, on the day when the Indian government was observing the National Unity Day, those people from Manipur, North East India, currently exiled in London, announced the formation of the independent Manipur government in exile.
