Nepal’s dairy products in Dubai

Kathmandu, October 17: An additional 1,500 kilograms of ghee and 150 kilograms of yak cheese produced by the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) have arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Nepali dairy products were shipped to Dubai targeting the Dashain and Tihar festivals. Prakash Chandra Ghimire, Managing Director of Rato Ra Chandra-Surya International, said the additional products were sent after the initial shipment of 1,500 kilograms of ghee received a positive response from the market.

According to him, Nepali products are being sold through three outlets in Dubai, located in Sonapur, Murakabat and near the Salah Al Din Metro Station, through Matribhoomi General Trading LLC.

DDC General Manager Dr. Sharan Kumar Pandey said the corporation plans to expand exports based on market demand and customer feedback. The ghee packaging uses Nepali, English and Arabic to cater to foreign markets.

The DDC has previously exported ghee to Japan and other countries.
