Global IME Bank concludes 20th AGM; approves 10% dividend

Kathmandu, October 2: The 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Global IME Bank Limited was held on Friday in Kathmandu. The meeting unanimously approved a proposal to distribute a total dividend equivalent to 10 percent of the bank’s paid-up capital to shareholders from the profit of fiscal year 2025/26 (FY 2082/83). The dividend comprises 4 percent bonus shares and 6 percent cash dividend, including tax.

The AGM approved the annual report and consolidated financial statements presented by Bank Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal on behalf of the Board of Directors. During the review period, the bank posted a net profit of Rs. 6.04 billion, an increase of 15.90 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. Similarly, the bank recorded an operating profit of Rs. 9.60 billion. Following the distribution of the approved bonus shares, the bank’s paid-up capital has reached Rs. 39.686 billion.

Addressing the AGM, Chairman Dhakal expressed his sincere gratitude to the shareholders for their unwavering trust and continued support.

He said the bank had successfully completed its proud two-decade journey due to the support and cooperation of its customers, shareholders, regulatory bodies and well-wishers.

He reiterated the bank’s commitment to further expanding its operations in a safer, more reliable and balanced manner while fully complying with the policies and directives of the Government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank.

He also said the bank would increase investment in digital banking systems to provide customers with more convenient and advanced services.

The AGM also approved a proposal authorising the Board of Directors to amend the bank’s Memorandum and Articles of Association as necessary and to appoint an auditor for the upcoming fiscal year.

Representatives of regulatory bodies, shareholders, institutional investors and members of the media attended the AGM in significant numbers.

Global IME Bank, which has received recognition in various national and international categories for its modern technology and excellent customer service, has won the “Bank of the Year 2014” and “Best Internet Bank 2016” awards, as well as the “Best Bank Nepal” title consecutively in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Global IME Bank is the first private-sector commercial bank in Nepal to successfully expand its network to all 77 districts of the country. The bank currently provides services through more than 1,000 service points, including 341 branches, 366 ATMs, 147 branchless banking centres, 69 extension and revenue collection counters, and three representative offices abroad.

Meanwhile, for immediate relief and rescue efforts for people affected by the recent floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, the bank has handed over Rs. 57.592 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. The amount includes the bank’s contribution under its corporate social responsibility programme as well as an amount equivalent to one day’s salary of its employees.
