Kathmandu, September 19: The government has appointed Dirghayukumar Shrestha as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The Cabinet meeting held on Friday made the decision.

Previously, he had served as Deputy Executive Director of the Directorate of Distribution and Customer Services and as Acting Executive Director.

After the government introduced the Special Provision Ordinance, 2083, concerning the removal of public officeholders, NEA Executive Director Hitendra Dev Shakya was dismissed, leaving the post vacant.
