Salt Trading CEO Urmila Shrestha honoured with ‘Corporate Excellence Leadership’ award

Kathmandu, September 15: Urmila Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Salt Trading Corporation Limited, has been honoured with the ‘Corporate Excellence Leadership Award.’

Former President Ram Baran Yadav presented the award to Shrestha amidst a function held in Lalitpur on   Sunday.

Shrestha, who has been leading Salt Trading Corporation, a company jointly owned by the government and the private sector, was elected Vice-President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce at its 70th General Assembly. She previously served as President of the Nepal Women Chamber.

As the head of Salt Trading, Shrestha has been contributing to ensuring the smooth supply and distribution of essential commodities and improving market management. Salt Trading has also played an important role in managing the supply of essential goods during disasters and times of crisis.

Shrestha is also active in promoting women’s entrepreneurship. Through the Nepal Women Chamber, she has led various initiatives focused on financial literacy, professional training, entrepreneurship promotion, and programmes targeting women and young entrepreneurs.

She is also Vice-President of the European Economic Chamber, an Executive Committee Member of the International Chamber of Commerce, and Senior Vice-President of the Nepal–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce.

According to the organisers, Shrestha was presented with the ‘Corporate Excellence Leadership Award’ in recognition of her contribution to professional leadership and the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship.
